Both Terry Butcher and George Burley are both Ipswich Town icons and have enjoyed very successful playing and subsequent managerial careers.
Hosted by Lord Russell Baker, this event is set to be a fantastic event where these two greats will talk about their career, take a Q&A session as well as meeting and greeting the audience. There will also be a photo opportunity available at some point during the event.
In addition to being Ipswich Town legends, both men have received international recognition. A strong centre-back for his country, Terry Butcher played 77 times for England, scoring three times from 1980-1990. Whilst George Burley played 11 times for Scotland and managed them for a period between 2008-2009.
A truly amazing night as both Terry Butcher and George Burley talked about their professional football careers as players for both domestic clubs; including Ipswich Town, Glasgow Rangers, Sunderland etc…, their respective International experience playing for England and Scotland, World Cup Finals and their managerial time too.
Let us not forget the famous evening in Stockholm in 1989 when Terry Butcher played the whole match for England against Sweden with a badly gashed forehead to secure the 0-0 draw England needed to qualify for the 1990 World Cup Finals in Italy. Terry’s white England shirt turned crimson with so much blood.
